Journal Your Christmas 2009

So with only 2 more days until JYC starts I thought I would show you some of the pages from last years journal! I have only recently finished the cover. I know that some people do this first but for me it's usually the last thing I do! But this year I will try to do earlier.

I am so excited about this course! I have done it on my own for 2 years but this year I have properly signed up so I can receive the prompts and class tips and techniques and use the forum!

This is the front cover (obviously)

I love this photo of us, especially in Black and White!
memories of christmas 2008!
This year I PROMISE to finish the whole album! It will be lovingly put together and completely finished! Yep Yep Yep!

bring on December 1st!

So this weeks sketch over at pencil lines blog, is designed by Laura Vegas, and you can find here blog here.

I love the fact that I could use 4 photos in a row for this one, and knew exactly which ones to use! So i wasted no time in getting started and actually, this one I finished in super speed! About 45 minutes. Impressive!

Colour Throwdown no:120/Taylored Expressions no:134

So here is this week's Colour Throwdown challenge. I am loving these colours! they are quite a spring/summer mix so quite nice to see something other than christmas colours at the moment (even though I love christmas)
I used the Taylored Expresssions sketch challenge (no:134) and found it great to combine the two. Sorry but just couldn't help but use a little Kraft cardstock on the card, although you will notice that I haven't used any Thickers on it. I am making progress from my Thicker obsession!

supplies: Stamp and pom pom trim from Making Memories.

Happy B'day

Just made this quick card for my Uncle yesterday. I am so in love with Kraft cardstock at the moment. This blank card (and envelope) are from paperchase Pack of 8 for £3.75! so not so cost effective, but haven't seen any other pre-scored packs with envelopes anywhere else so just got these.

Alphabet stickers are from Papermania and the little cupcake sticker is from Paperchase, they are so cute, I think I bought 2 packets just in case I get carried away.

Pencil Lines 213

This is this week's Pencil Lines sketch from their guest designer Laura Harrison. I love her work and remember her LO's from Scrapbook Inspirations! Still can't believe it has gone.

I recently found this old Polaroid 1000 in a charity shop, still in it's original box for only £1.50 so snapped it up (excuse the pun) so it could look cute up on my shelf.
Taye thought that there was still a film in it so it took no time at all for him to start trying out his early photography skills.
I made the little camera embellishment from bits of paper from my stash and think it looks really retro! Again my trusted Thickers take main stage as the title! How did we ever cope without them?

12 Days, Project 1

Magnetic countdown calendar!

The first '12 days' project was to make a magnetic calendar. I used an old magnet that I cut into strips and covered in paper! It was a great first challenge so bring on the others. Enjoy

Loved using all my American Crafts thickers on one project. Can you tell how much I love them yet?

Colour Throwdown no:117

This is my first colour challenge, prompted by the colour throwdown blog. I love using Kraft right now so this was perfect.
I stamped a border along the bottom in an orange and layered up some K&Co and Prima flowers.
These were the colours to use.
And here is my take in the colours, I needed to make a Birthday card for a lady who loved flowers so I am happy that I could make a card from the project.

11.4 Sketchy Thursday

This weeks sketch was great, I used pictures taken from a recent birthday party that Taye went to for one of his friends. Luckily it didn't rain so the kids were able to play outside on a wooden play ship. They all dressed up as Pirates and hunted the chocolate treasure under the supervision of Captain Longjohn! Taye had so much fun, although he didn't like wearing his eye patch much.

Again I used my beloved thickers by American Crafts, I wasn't to sure of the sideways title, but it works on the page I think.

The cute little 3D stickers are from paperchase they have a great collection of little stickers and badges that can brighten up a page.

Pencil Lines 211

This is my first entry for the Pencil Lines sketch. I rarely use bright pink as I have a little boy and don't often scrap about myself, so I ravished at the opportunity to use this Bo Bunny cardstock! the design itself I found quite a challenge as it was different to the LO's that I would normally go for but was really happy with the result.

The letters are Chit Chat and Foam Thickers by American Crafts, which I absolutely love! I usually just look at them but have started to use them on my LO's! I recently found some in
TK MAXX and they were soooo cheap that I bought all I could find! Would never have looked in there!

Please enjoy and leave a comment if you like!
