*This is me (now)*

This layout was based on a sketch for the Pencil Lines DT search, and I thought that I would focus a LO on myself seeing as the search is for a new DT member, which I think I will enter for. Haven't got anything to loose anyway x
I actually like this picture of me (for a change) and especially think its good as my (nearly) 4 year old took it. The sketch is based on one 4x6 photo and I have tried to keep it fairly focused around the photo.
Just a few close-ups of the tag and journaling. I have written some of my favourite things down on the tag, but might add some more to the back of it that I want to keep hidden! I hand cut the pinwheel shapes from some October Afternoon paper and inked them a little.
Love these K&Company Grand Adhesions, think I found them in a local craft shop for £1.50 a pack (Naturally I bought 2!)

A little reminder...

I have just finished making this adorable little reminder keepsake that the amazing Kirsty Wiseman made a tutorial for, you can it find here and here. It's super lush, and very easy to make. The pockets are those lovely little After Eight mint wrappers, and inside are 12 cards for you to write down key dates like birthdays, anniversaries etc..
Not sure if I should keep it myself or give it to someone?
Also been trying to think of some other fun ways for using this 'fan' technique. So far I haven't come up with any genius ideas, so please let me know if you have any thoughts...
In other news: I PASSED my driving theory test. I have had about 50+ hours of driving lessons and was super nervous about my theory test, but now that I have passed it, I am now super douper nervous about the actual test! ARGH

*the Toy Story post*

Hi all! just posting this LO based on Shimelle's SOTW x thought that I would go back to the bright colours that I am used to, and think they work well with these photo's of Taye with his Toy Story BFF's! Cute.

Like Shimelle, I also love using 2 photo's side by side so really loved this sketch x
Made this little heart from folded papers and bakers twine x The rocket is a AC rub-on which I put onto white card and attached with 3D foam xThought that these American Crafts 'green army men' rub-on's were perfect for this layout x
x p.s thank you all for your lovely comments you leave me!

January 2011 Documented

The concept of this year long album is simple and a huge thanks to Shimelle and UK Scrappers for designing such a wonderful project (originally called Document 2010) Each month you create 4 pages. Page one is a focus page, about one specific event in more detail. Pages 2 and 3 are divided page protectors which contain pockets for 4x6 photos and little journalling spots. Then the last page features an envelope that you can store additional photos in, tickets, receipts and any other bits and pieces that you want to keep from that month but that don't quite make it to your actual pages.

I didn't do this last year, so have been waiting for ages to get started.
This is my Focus page, documenting when we went to Marwell Zoo, on possibly the coldest day EVER! Brrr
Here are a couple of close-ups and note: my new American Crafts D-Ring album I bought for this project from Sarah's Cards.
This is one side of my divided pages, I have bought both portrait and landscape dividers so can mix it up a little. Sorry for the glare in the photo's. These were a right pain to photograph x
So in Jan, there were a few birthdays, I finished my JYC, Taye went back to school, We went to the Zoo, Oh and celebrated the new year x
Page 3, I bought a 'Bible in a year' which I have already fallen behind with, oops! Found some early signs of spring, which I got very excited about x
And this is my collection page for January. Used a plain white envelope to hold, tickets, party invitations and receipts for things.
Are you going to Document 2011?

**Spaghetti face**

* Just finished off a couple of pages that were quite quick ones, as have had a busy weekend for a change. Both these layouts are left quite simple, so that the main focus can return to the photo/story on the page.
This is my LO for the Pencil Lines sketch which I love! The colours are quite bright and they show my little Taye, all covered in spaghetti sauce!
What is a LO without Thickers and Bunting? Is my style to predictable? I'm not sure...
The orange butterflies are cut from some left over xmas wrapping paper...love a bit of up-cycling.
This Lo is for Shimelle's SOTW which I totally love. This week had a little love theme going on.

I love flowers and I seem to change my favourite one all the time. At the moment, I absolutely love Tulip's and they are beautifully pink and don't make me sneeze! yay!

Here is my take on the sketch...(note the white background-haven't used it for ages)
Threaded some buttons with red twine and added them on top of the punched butterflies x

*My Weekend Sketch-athon*

I have just finished a couple of LO's for some challenges so have quickly photographed them and posting them here, all before I collect Taye from Pre-School and do more 'Parent-like' tasks! And drink more tea! Yay!!

Here is my sketch for Sketchy Thursdays's 'Guest DT challenge for March' Not only was there a sketch to follow, but we were also required to include the following:

♥ Pink & Green or Red & Turquoise
♥ Hearts
♥ A list about something/someone you love

This is my 'not so good' photo of my layout, using papers from October Afternoon and Bella BLVD, with some pink lullaby Thickers! Lush
...a few close ups, a bit more in focus, all about my little Orchid called Oli! Yes, I have named my plant...
Now this LO is a first for me... a sketch from Mission to Create which if you haven't heard of before, then you just have to check out.
This was Mission No:35. For each challenge (every other sunday) you need to include from 3-5 of the list of requirements in you LO. Here is this week's list:

Deborah - use pastel colours
Jocelyn - stitched journalling lines
Nicole - this sketch

Vanessa - Lace trim
Iris - White gesso or use mists

The DT each chose something that you must include. I used: Lace, the sketch, pastel colours, stitch lines
Printed this LOVE ticket onto Kraft paper ages ago... and used from lace from my fabric box. I made some bunting from some Amy Butler fabric and AC ribbon.
What are your Favourite challenge blogs? I love finding new one's xxx

just another sketch challenge!

Loved this weeks Creative Scrappers sketch challenge here so this is my layout. My dad took this photo of me and Taye recently, which I really loved (looks better in B/W though) so thought I would use it for this simple sketch x
I cut the flower shapes from October Afternoon's Pink Eraser (schoolhouse range) and layered them up with punched shapes and Prima flowers!
The cute red felt trim is from Hobbycraft!
Supplies: Cardstock; Bazzill, Paper: October Afternoon, Stickers; Paperchase, Letters; AC Thickers, Flowers; Prima, Making Memories, Brads; Papermania

2010 in Review (At Last)

Now I have to apologise for the lack of focus on these photo's but just wanted to
post them so they will just have to do for now.
I used this weeks Pencil Lines sketch No:223 for this LO and also will upload it to the Sarah's Cards blog for their January challenge which was to create a 2010 review page.

So ta da....
...Where would I be without my grey number thickers?
...Ilove my new Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers too...
...See, I told you the pic's were bad!...

My 4x6 Photo Love!

Just compleated this project for Shimelle's new monthly class for Two Peas in a Bucket called 4x6 photo love!!
This month focuses on using just one photo and adding embellishments around it. Watch her tutorial here. Then you can upload your project to their project page!
Here is mine, using lots of flowers and lush Thickers!

Made this pink rosette flower and added a cute button!
